Aceh Gayo
In Bener Meriah, coffee is more than a crop. It is part of the everyday life of the Gayo people. For generations, families have cultivated coffee together, passing farming knowledge and traditions from one generation to the next. Coffee is also part of local hospitality, shared when families gather and guests arrive. Through traditions such as Didong, stories and values are carried across generations — just as coffee connects the people of Bener Meriah to the land they call home.
Selected Indonesian CoffeeA Bold Expression of Gayo, Balanced by Sweetness
Within the Gayo Highlands, Bener Meriah produces coffees with a distinctive expression shaped by high elevation, local varieties, and smallholder farming traditions.
Its higher-grown Arabica lots can develop vibrant acidity, natural sweetness, and greater aromatic complexity, while varieties such as Gayo 3 add another layer of identity to the origin.
Compared with the broader Gayo region, Bener Meriah offers buyers something more specific: traceable highland coffees with a clear sense of place, strong specialty potential, and an established supply base.
